  • Ravens Rally Late to Close Out Season With 3-1 Senior Day Victory

    The Franklin Pierce University volleyball 2017 season came to an end Saturday afternoon as the Ravens came from behind down 1-0 to defeat Northeast-10 Conference opponent the College of Saint Rose 3-1 (16-25, 25-21, 25-18, 31-29) on Senior Day in the Fieldhouse. With the win, the Crimson and Grey conclude their year at 8-17 overall and 6-8 NE10 and the loss sends the Golden Knights to 12-17, 3-11 NE10.
  • Le Moyne Bests Franklin Pierce 3-0 Ending Postseason Bid

    Clinging by a thread in the Northeast-10 Conference volleyball standings, the Franklin Pierce University Ravens needed to take care of business Friday night to remain in the hunt for a postseason berth. Le Moyne College had other plans as they knocked the Ravens out of postseason contention with a 3-0 (15-25, 14-25, 21-25) sweep of the Crimson and Grey in the Fieldhouse.

    Gabriela Vazquez tallied a match-high 15 kills and a .419 hitting percentage as the Southern Connecticut State University volleyball team upended the Franklin Pierce University squad 3-0 (18-25, 16-25, 16-25) Saturday afternoon at the Pelz Gym. With the victory, the Owls glide to 20-8 overall and 7-5 NE10 while the Ravens drop to 7-16, 5-7 NE10 in the setback.

    Sophomore outside hitter Danielle Varricchio (Boynton Beach, Fla.) hit .412 while adding eight kills and 13 digs as the Franklin Pierce University volleyball team made quick work of Northeast-10 Conference opponent Saint Anselm College by sweeping the Hawks 3-0 (25-22, 25-23, 25-21) on athletes backing athletes night Tuesday in a packed Fieldhouse.

    RIDNGE, N.H. (October 27, 2017) – Trailing 2-1 and clinging to a 17-15 lead in the fourth set, a switch suddenly flipped for the Franklin Pierce University volleyball team on Friday night in the Fieldhouse . The Ravens ran off eight of the final nine points of the set and then never trailed in the decisive fifth set, as they rallied past Assumption for a 3-2 win in Northeast-10 Conference play. Senior middle Hannah St. Jean (Olympia, Wash.) thumped away 17 kills, hit .429 and added six blocks, while sophomore outside hitter Danielle Varricchio (Boynton Beach, Fla.) went for a 15-kill, 28-dig double-double to lead the way for Franklin Pierce.

    Senior middle blocker Hannah St. Jean (Olympia, Wash.) led all Ravens with 13 kills and a game-best four blocks as the Franklin Pierce University volleyball team suffered a 3-1 (25-21, 14-25, 24-26, 21-25) setback to Northeast-10 Conference opponent Adelphi University Saturday afternoon. With the win, the Panthers move to 9-11 and 5-3 NE10 while the Ravens lost their 15th match and fall to 3-6 in league play.

    Sophomore outside hitter Danielle Varricchio (Boynton Beach, Fla.) tallied a team-high nine kills and added nine digs as the Franklin Pierce University volleyball team suffered a 3-0 (16-25, 15-25, 16-25) loss to Northeast-10 Conference opponent Pace University Friday night at the Goldstein Fitness Center. The Setters move to 10-13, 4-4 NE10 with the win while the Ravens slide to 3-5 in league play.
  • Team Effort Helps Ravens End Three Game Losing Streak

    Junior outside hitter Brittney Carias (Burlingame, Calif.) tallied seven kills, a .467 hitting percentage and 15 digs as the Franklin Pierce University volleyball team topped Northeast-10 Conference opponent Saint Michael’s College 3-0 (25-17, 25-21, 25-15) Tuesday evening at the Ross Sports Center. With the win, the Crimson and Grey snap a three-game losing skid earning their fifth win overall while improving to 3-4 in league play. The loss was the 11th of the season for the Purple Knights.
  • St. Jean’s Effort Not Enough as Chargers Storm Past Ravens

    Franklin Pierce University volleyball middle blocker Hannah St. Jean (Olympia, Wash.) led all players with a match-best 11 kills and a .476 hitting percentage, but Northeast-10 Conference foe the University of New Haven Chargers defeated the Ravens by a 3-0 (21-25, 13-25, 21-25) score Saturday in The Fieldhouse. With the win, the Chargers move to 13-7 and remain unblemished in league play (8-0 NE10) while the Ravens drop to 2-4 in the conference.

    The Franklin Pierce University volleyball team traveled to Northeast-10 Conference opponent American International College and dropped a 3-0 (18-25, 13-25, 21-25) decision to the host Yellow Jackets Tuesday night at the Butova Gym. The win advances AIC to 13-8 overall and 6-1 NE10 while the loss drops FPU to 4-12, 2-3 NE10.

    Franklin Pierce University volleyball junior outside hitter Brittney Carias (Burlingame, Calif,) paced the Raven offense with a team-high seven kills to go along with 10 digs on the defense end as Southern New Hampshire University came into the Fieldhouse and handed the Crimson and Grey a 3-0 (17-25, 19-25, 15-25) loss in Northeast-10 Conference action. With the victory, the Penmen improve to 5-9 overall and 2-4 NE10 while the setback sends the Ravens to 4-11, 2-2 NE10.

    The Franklin Pierce University volleyball team left Rindge on Friday night as they headed to the New York Institute of Technology (NYIT) and Recreation Hall for a non-conference showdown with the Bears. The Ravens suffered a 3-0 (18-25, 15-25, 19-25) sweep at the hands of the host Bears as NYIT improved to 11-2 on the campaign with the victory while the Ravens fell to 3-9 overall.

    The Franklin Pierce University volleyball team headed out on the road to Bentley University and dropped a Northeast-10 Conference contest by a 3-0 (20-25, 17-25, 6-25) margin to the host Falcons Tuesday evening at the Dana Center. With the win, Bentley improves to 7-4, 1-0 NE10 and the loss sends the Crimson and Grey to 3-8, 1-1 NE10.

    Franklin Pierce University senior middle blocker Hannah St. Jean (Olympia, Wash.) led all players with 15 kills, a .433 hitting percentage and a game-best 10 total blocks as the Ravens bested Northeast-10 Conference opponent Merrimack College 3-1 (25-21, 29-31, 25-15, 25-13) on Saturday afternoon in The Fieldhouse. With the win, the Ravens snap a six match losing skid and improve to 3-7 overall, 1-0 in league play while the Warriors drop to 2-7, 0-1 NE10.

    The Franklin Pierce University volleyball team played in front of their home crowd for the first time this year, but suffered a 3-0 (19-25, 23-25, 16-25) defeat at the hands of non-conference opponent the University of Bridgeport on Friday evening in a hot and humid Fieldhouse environment. With the win, the Purple Knights improve their mark to 2-7 overall while the loss sends the Ravens to 2-7.
  • St. Jean Named to All-Tournament Team as Ravens End Wildcat Invite

    The Franklin Pierce University volleyball team concluded play at the 2017 Wildcat Invitational hosted by Wilmington University and the WU Athletics Complex Saturday. FPU suffered two setbacks on their final day of competition first falling to Chestnut Hill College 3-2 (23-25, 20-25, 25-18, 25-20, 12-15) and then dropping a 3-1 (19-25, 25-27, 25-23, 20-25) duel to the host Wildcats. Both losses sent the Ravens to 2-6 on the year while the Griffins earned the first win and Wilmington evened their mark at 4-4.
  • Raven Volleyball Loses Twice Friday at Wildcat Invite

    The Franklin Pierce University volleyball team headed south to Wilmington University for the first day of the 2017 Wildcat Invitational which took place at the WU Athletics Complex. FPU dropped both games of their doubleheader Friday falling to Holy Family University 3-0 (16-25, 23-25, 19-25) and Jefferson University 3-1 (20-25, 26-24, 11-25, 16-25). With both losses, the Ravens drop to 2-4 early in the year while the Tigers improve to 3-2 and the Rams move to 3-4 overall.
  • Runge Records 11 Aces, Ravens Split at Final Day of Ramfest

    After a 1-1 start to the 2017 campaign yesterday, the Franklin Pierce University volleyball team returned to action at Ramfest 2017 Saturday on the campus of West Chester University. FPU took home the victory in their first match of the afternoon defeating Goldey-Beacom College 3-1 (19-25, 25-10, 25-22, 25-22), but fell in the second game 3-0 at the hands of Millersville University (22-25, 18-25, 15-25). The Ravens record stayed even at 2-2 through the opening four contests.
  • Volleyball Begins Season with Split at Ramfest 2017

    Following an appearance in the Northeast-10 Conference Tournament last year, the Franklin Pierce University volleyball team began their 2017 slate of games this afternoon on the road at Ramfest 2017 hosted by West Chester University. The Ravens split their first two matches of the season as they were swept by host West Chester University 3-1 (20-25, 17-25, 17-25), but then rebounded to sweep Bowie State University 3-0 (25-12, 25-19, 25-16). Through the two contests, the crimson and grey are 1-1 on the year.

    The Franklin Pierce University volleyball team has been selected to finish eighth in the Northeast-10 Conference after the announcement of the 2017 Volleyball Preseason Coaches’ Poll this afternoon by the league offices.
