WEST CALDWELL, N.J. (October 28, 2017) – It was Kobie Smith (Leominster, Mass.) early, it was Kobie Smith often and it was Kobie Smith all afternoon long on Saturday for the Franklin Pierce University sprint football team. Smith rushed for 269 yards and two scores at Bonnel Field, to lead a school-record 435-yard rushing attack for the Ravens, who posted a 45-7 win over Caldwell in cross-division Collegiate Sprint Football League play.
The Franklin Pierce University community offers our deepest sympathy to the family and friends of our former student, Kevin Raymond, who was the victim of a fatal gunshot wound in Somerville, Mass., on Saturday, according to police.
RINDGE, N.H. (October 14, 2017) – After using a pair of second-quarter touchdowns to jump to a 14-3 halftime lead, the Franklin Pierce University sprint football team came up empty in the second half on Saturday afternoon at Sodexo Field. Following a third-quarter touchdown, Cornell got a field goal in the first minute of the fourth quarter and then struck for the game-winning touchdown with just 28 seconds to play, to pull out a 19-14 win on the road in Collegiate Sprint Football League North Division play. Junior quarterback Connor Ostrander rushed for 120 yards and a touchdown, and threw for 90 yards and another score to lead the way for the Big Red.
RINDGE, N.H (June 14, 2018) – Assistant coach and alum Cody Kauffman ’12 of the Franklin Pierce University baseball team has been selected to join the coaching staff of the USA Baseball Women’s National Team this summer, as announced earlier this spring by USA Baseball. Kauffman and the rest of the staff have already begun to build the team, and will then prepare the squad for World Baseball Softball Confederation (WBSC) Women’s Baseball World Cup in August.
RINDGE, N.H. (June 11, 2018) – Senior Tom McGuckin (Clayton, N.J.) of the Franklin Pierce University men’s ice hockey team has earned Northeast-10 Academic All-Conference honors for the winter season, as announced earlier this spring by the Conference office. He was among 67 student-athletes across seven sports honored by the NE10.
RINDGE, N.H. (June 5, 2018) – Senior Martin Gradijan (Lebanon, N.H.) and graduate student Jon Holmes (Albany, N.Y.) of the Franklin Pierce University men’s cross country and track & field teams have been named to the CoSIDA Academic All-District I First Team, as announced late last week by CoSIDA (College Sports Information Directors of America). As a result of the selection, Gradijan advances to the Academic All-America ballot.

(June 1, 2018) – Senior right-hander John Amendola (Wallingford, Conn.) of the Franklin Pierce University baseball team has been named to the CoSIDA Academic All-District I First Team, as announced earlier this spring by CoSIDA (College Sports Information Directors of America). As a result of the selection, Amendola advances to the Academic All-America ballot.
