Williams Recognized by NE-10 and Bridgeport Purple Knight Invitational
Chino Valley, Ariz. native earns accolades in first week of collegiate competition
RINDGE, N.H. (September 8, 2004)
– Franklin Pierce freshman setter Bria Williams (Chino Valley, Ariz./Chino
Valley) was awarded Setter of the Week by the Northeast-10
Conference after a stellar showing in her first week of play at the
collegiate level. She was also named to the Bridgeport Purple
Knight Invitational All-Tournament Team for her performance in this
weekend's tournament.
Williams led the Franklin Pierce volleyball team with an average of
8.0 assists per game over five matches last week. She also tallied
1.9 digs per game and 0.81 kills per game.
The Raven setter was most impressive in leading the team to a 3-1
victory over Southern New Hampshire University in the opening match
of the tournament. She posted a career-high 37 assists to go along
with six kills, five digs and two aces.
Franklin Pierce (1-5, 0-2 NE-10) returns to action Friday, when it
hosts Saint Michael's College for a Northeast-10 Conference match
at 7 p.m. in the Northfields Activity Center.
