College: Stonehill, '08

Alex Eckhardt is in her first season as Assistant Coach of the men's and women's tennis teams at Franklin Pierce after serving as Interim Head Coach for a portion of the 2008-09 season. She is also a Graduate Assistant Coach with the Franklin Pierce women's soccer program.

Eckhardt joined Franklin Pierce following a record-breaking soccer career at Northeast-10 Conference rival Stonehill College. She was a two-time All-Star goalkeeper for the New England Women's Intercollegiate Soccer Association (NEWISA), also earning All-NE-10 honors once. A strong student off the pitch, she collected NE-10 All-Academic honors as a junior and senior.

Eckhardt, team captain as a junior and senior, left Stonehill holding the program's career record for goals against average, while also ranking among Skyhawks career leaders for minutes played (2nd) and shutouts (3rd). In 2006, Eckhardt set a program record with four-straight shutouts. She made a season-high ten saves in a 2-2 double-overtime draw with Franklin Pierce her senior year.

Eckhardt, a native of Marshfield, Mass., earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree in communication from Stonehill and is currently pursuing her Master's Degree in Sports Facility Management at Franklin Pierce. She completed an internship in the Communications Office for the New England Revolution last spring and gained some coaching background by serving as an assistant coach with the girl's tennis team at Marshfield High School as well as working the SoccerPlus Goalkeeper Academy at the University of Rhode Island.
