Womens Soccer Ranked Fifth In NSCAA/adidas East Regional Rankings
Ravens slip three spots

RINDGE, N.H. (September 8,
2009) – The Franklin Pierce University women’s
soccer team is ranked fifth in the National Soccer Coaches
Association of American/adidas East Regional rankings, as announced
Tuesday by the NSCAA.
The second East Regional rankings of the year see Franklin Pierce
(3-2-0 at the time of the rankings) fall three spots from the
second position after a 1-2-0 week. The Ravens lost to
Massachusetts Lowell and Florida Southern on Tuesday and Friday of
last week, respectively, before blanking Le Moyne, 5-0, on Sunday.
Fellow Northeast-10 Conference
member Saint Rose (3-0-0) occupies the top spot in the rankings for
the second consecutive week, while Adelphi (3-0-0) and Merrimack
(3-0-1) represent the conference in the third and fourth positions,
respectively.
The Northeast-10 is well represented behind Franklin Pierce as
well, as New Haven (4-0-0), Massachusetts Lowell (1-2-0), Stonehill
(3-0-0) and Southern New Hampshire (2-1-1) are ranked sixth,
eighth, ninth and 10th, respectively.
The Ravens are back in action on Tuesday, Sept. 15, when they
travel to Saint Michael’s for a Northeast-10 Conference
contest. Kickoff is scheduled for 4 p.m. at Duffy Field at Doc
Jacobs in Colchester, Vt. Franklin Pierce next plays at home on
Sept. 22 against Bentley at 7 p.m.
