ORANGE BEACH, Ala. (December 1, 2007) – The Franklin Pierce University women’s soccer team saw its quest for a record sixth National Championship come to a close in disappointing fashion as 14th-ranked University of Tampa captured its first title in program history with a 3-1 decision on penalty kicks after the two sides played to a scoreless double-overtime draw at the Orange Beach Sportsplex this afternoon.

(November 1, 2007) – For the first time since 1999 the Northeast-10 Conference Women’s Soccer Tournament Championship will not belong to Franklin Pierce University as the third-seeded Ravens, ranked 16th in this week’s National Soccer Coaches’ Association of America (NSCAA)/adidas Division II poll, were eliminated by second-seeded and 8th-ranked Bryant University in semifinal round action at the Bryant Turf Field tonight. The Bulldogs posted a 7-6 decision in a penalty kick shootout after the two sides played to a scoreless draw after 110-minutes of regulation and two overtime periods.
