FINDLAY, Ohio. (May 18, 2017) – Franklin Pierce University women's golfer Camden Morrison (Millis, Mass.) competed at the second day of the 2017 NCAA Division II Women's Golf Championships on Thursday morning at the Findlay Country Club.
"Camden came out today and played relaxed and confident said head coach Tyler Bishop. She put together a great round in tough conditions as it was very windy, but she hit great tee shots and made some clutch putts to get her back in contention.
Morrison concluded the first day with an 83 (+11) and sat in a tie for 53rd place. She teed off the first hole at 10:20 a.m. and turned in a solid second day performance as she knocked off nine strokes from her scorecard to finish the second round at 74 (+2).
The Ravens team captain ascended 28 places in the individual standings into a tie for 25th place at 157 (+13) over the first two days by putting in 18 total pars and four birdies. Ann Parmerter of Dallas Baptist University broke the four way tie for first place with a 73 (+1) second round to head into the clubhouse with the lead at 146 (+2). Morrison is currently 11 strokes behind Parmerter for the top spot.
Morrison will return to the links tomorrow with an 8:30 a.m. tee time on the first hole.
