Johannah Leedham Named to NE-10 Weekly Honor Roll
Senior forward averaged 24.5 points and 8.0 rebounds during the week
RINDGE, N.H. (February 1, 2010) – Franklin
Pierce University women’s basketball senior standout
Johannah Leedham (Ellesmere Port, England) was
named to the Northeast-10 Conference Women’s Basketball
Weekly Honor Roll on Monday, as announced by the league.
Leedham earned the recognition after averaging 24.5 points and 8.0
rebounds per game during the week as the Ravens went 2-0 in
defending their No. 1 national ranking in the USA
Today/ESPN WBCA Division II Top-25 Poll.
Leedham logged a double-double of 18 points and 10 rebounds in the
80-39 win over Adelphi on Tuesday. The strong performance came on a
special evening as Leedham was honored prior to the game for
breaking the school’s scoring record the previous week. She
was joined in the pre-game ceremony by Shelia Lindsey, who
previously held the school scoring record since 1988.
Leedham followed that performance with another brilliant one in
Saturday’s 84-61 triumph at Le Moyne. She tossed in a
game-high 31 points to give her 2,618 for career, which moved her
into sixth place in NCAA Division II women’s basketball
history for career scoring. She also became just the seventh player
in Division II history to top 2,600 points for her career.
Leedham wasn’t done moving up the NCAA charts as she also had
two steals in the win over the Dolphins. The steals were the 395th
and 396th of her career, which is good enough for 17th place in
Division II history for career threfts.
Leedham and the top-ranked Ravens return to action Wednesday night
when they travel to face Stonehill at 5:30 p.m. The Skyhawks are
currently in a three-way tie for second place in the league and are
three games back of the top spot, which the Ravens occupy. Fans who
cannot attend the game can follow it online via video and/or live
stats through the team’s page at
