RINDGE, N.H. (September 8,
2009) – Senior Caitlynn Parnell (Medina,
Texas) of the Franklin Pierce University volleyball team
has been named to the Northeast-10 Conference Weekly Honor Roll for
the week ending on Sept. 6, as announced Tuesday afternoon by the
conference office.
Parnell averaged 2.57 kills, 1.29 digs and 0.86 blocks per set over
two matches last Saturday at the Assumption College Labor Day
Mixer. In a 3-0 of host Assumption, Parnell led the Ravens with
nine kills and added five digs, four blocks (two solo, two aces and
an assist. Later, in a loss to Stonehill, she again collected nine
kills, this time with four digs and a pair of block solos.
On the season, including Tuesday’s match against American
International (which did not factor into the Weekly Honor Roll),
Parnell is averaging 2.00 kills (tied for second on the team), 1.17
digs and 0.72 blocks (leads the team) per set. She currently holds
a .160 hitting percentage with 36 kills and 19 errors over 106
attempts.
The Ravens (1-4, 0-0 Northeast-10) return to the court on Saturday,
Sept. 12, when they host Concordia (N.Y.) and Merrimack in a
tri-match at the Fieldhouse. Franklin Pierce will host Concordia at
11 a.m. and Merrimack at 3 p.m. In between, Merrimack and Concordia
will square off at 1 p.m.


Caitlynn Parnell has been named to the Northeast-10 Conference
Weekly Honor Roll.
