Lamoureux Game-Winning Single Lifts Softball to Senior Day Split With Assumption
RINDGE, N.H. (May 1, 2010) – Freshman shortstop Aimee Lamoureux (East Brookfield, Mass.) hit a game-winning single to cap a three-run bottom of the seventh on Saturday afternoon as the Franklin Pierce University softball team rallied for a 5-4 victory over Assumption in the second game of a Northeast-10 Conference doubleheader at Franklin Pierce Softball Field. Earlier in the day, junior first baseman Amy Gordon went 3-for-4 with a three-run home run to lead Assumption to a 10-1, six-inning win in the first game.

Softball Downed at Massachusetts Lowell
LOWELL, Mass. (April 29, 2010) – Seven different players drove in at least one run on Thursday afternoon as Massachusetts Lowell posted an 8-0, five-inning victory over the Franklin Pierce University softball team in Northeast-10 Conference play at River View Field. The game was a makeup game after the second game of Tuesday’s doubleheader was postponed due to inclement weather.

Softball Falls Twice to Le Moyne
RINDGE, N.H. (April 28, 2010) – Freshman shortstop Aimee Lamoureux (East Brookfield, Mass.) had three hits and drove in two runs on Wednesday afternoon, but the Franklin Pierce University softball team was defeated twice by Le Moyne in a Northeast-10 Conference doubleheader at Franklin Pierce Softball Field. Le Moyne won the first game, 11-3 in five innings, and the second game, 19-4 in six innings. Both games were halted early, due to the eight-run rule. Sophomore first baseman Leah Ford hit two home runs and drove in seven runs for Le Moyne in the second game.

Johnson Pitches Softball Past Massachusetts Lowell, 1-0
LOWELL, Mass. (April 27, 2010) – Junior right-hander Kayla Johnson (Hudson, N.H.) threw a six-hit shutout and sophomore third baseman Meaghan O’Neal (Littleton, Mass.) drove home the only run of the game in the sixth inning on Tuesday afternoon to lead the Franklin Pierce University softball team to a 1-0 victory over Massachusetts Lowell in Northeast-10 Conference play at River View Field. The second game of the scheduled doubleheader was postponed due to inclement weather and will be made up on Thursday, April 29 at 4 p.m.

Softball Falls Twice at Southern Connecticut State
NEW HAVEN, Conn. (April 25, 2010) – Freshman catcher Jessica Furtado (Taunton, Mass.) recorded four hits on Sunday afternoon, but the Franklin Pierce University softball team was defeated twice by Southern Connecticut State in Northeast-10 Conference play at Pelz Field. SCSU won the first game, 3-1, and took the second as well, 5-2. Junior right-hander Kayla Johnson (Hudson, N.H.) tossed a complete game without allowing an earned run for Franklin Pierce in the first game.

Softball Downed Twice at New Haven
WEST HAVEN, Conn. (April 24, 2010) – Senior right-hander Breanne Gleason threw two shutouts, including a no-hitter, on Saturday afternoon to lead No. 11 nationally ranked New Haven to a doubleheader sweep of the Franklin Pierce University softball team in Northeast-10 Conference play at UNH Softball Field. New Haven won the first game, 8-0, in six innings via the eight-run rule and took the second, 2-0.

RINDGE, N.H. (April 21, 2010) – Freshman catcher Jessica Furtado (Taunton, Mass.) had three hits, including a solo home run on Wednesday afternoon, but the Franklin Pierce University softball team was swept by Southern New Hampshire in a Northeast-10 Conference doubleheader at Franklin Pierce Softball Field. Southern New Hampshire won the first game, 9-5, and the second game, 5-1. Senior third baseman Andrea Clausi hit a home run in each game of the doubleheader for Southern New Hampshire.

(April 19, 2010) – Sophomore center fielder Jayme Bilafer (Concord, Mass.) hit a game-winning RBI single in the bottom of the seventh inning on Monday afternoon to give the Franklin Pierce University softball team a 4-3 victory over Saint Rose in the second game of a Northeast-10 Conference doubleheader at Franklin Pierce Softball Field. Saint Rose won the first game of the day, 3-2. Junior catcher Nikki Woodard hit a home run in each game for Saint Rose.

RINDGE, N.H. (April 17, 2010) – The Franklin Pierce University softball team has announced another change to its weekend schedule. The team's doubleheader against Le Moyne, scheduled for Sunday at noon, has been postponed due to unplayable field conditions. The doubleheader has been rescheduled for 3 p.m. on Wednesday, April 28.

Softball Drops Thursday Doubleheader to American International
RINDGE, N.H. (April 15, 2010) – The Franklin Pierce University softball team dropped both games of a doubleheader against American International on Thursday in Rindge. The Ravens fell by scores of 8-2 in game one and 9-1 in the second game. Franklin Pierce fell to 12-17 overall and 7-9 in the Northeast-10, while AIC improved to 15-19 and 8-8 in league play.

Kayla Johnson Leads Softball to Sweep of Merrimack, 3-2 and 6-3
RINDGE, N.H. (April 13, 2010) – Junior right-hander Kayla Johnson (Hudson, N.H.) pitched 13.1 innings and allowed just two runs on eight hits on Tuesday afternoon to pick up the win in each end of a Northeast-10 Conference doubleheader against Merrimack at Franklin Pierce Softball Field. She threw a complete game as Franklin Pierce won the first game, 3-2 in eight innings, then tossed 5.1 innings of shutout relief while the Ravens rallied for a 6-3 victory in the second game.

(April 10, 2010) – Freshman catcher Jessica Furtado (Taunton, Mass.) went 4-for-7 and drove in two runs on Saturday afternoon, as the Franklin Pierce University softball team split a Northeast-10 Conference doubleheader against Pace at Pace Field. Franklin Pierce won the day’s first game, 3-2, in come-from-behind fashion, and then lost the second game, 5-3.

RINDGE, N.H. (April 8, 2010) – Freshman catcher Jessica Furtado (Taunton, Mass.) hit a walk-off home run in the bottom of the eighth inning on Thursday afternoon to lead the Franklin Pierce University softball team to a 6-5 win over Saint Anselm in the first game of a Northeast-10 Conference doubleheader at Franklin Pierce. Later in the afternoon, Saint Anselm won the second game, 6-3.

EASTON, Mass. (April 7, 2010) – Sophomore center fielder Jayme Bilafer (Concord, Mass.) hit 3-for-3 with a double on Wednesday afternoon, but the Franklin Pierce University softball team was defeated, 3-0, by Stonehill in the second game of a Northeast-10 Conference doubleheader at Fr. Gartland Field. Earlier in the day, Franklin Pierce lost the first game as well, 5-1.

(April 3, 2010) – Freshman catcher Jessica Furtado (Taunton, Mass.) went 2-for-3 with a two-run, eighth-inning, game-winning double to give the Franklin Pierce University softball team a 4-3, eight-inning victory over Saint Michael’s in the first game of a Northeast-10 Conference doubleheader on Saturday afternoon at Doc Jacobs Field. Later in the day, sophomore right-hander Jessica Wiley (Cape Vincent, N.Y.) tossed a four-hit shutout as Franklin Pierce picked up a 3-0 win to sweep the doubleheader.

LEOMINSTER, Mass. (April 2, 2010) – Freshman shortstop Aimee Lamoureux (East Brookfield, Mass.) hit 5-for-6 and drove home two runs on Friday afternoon, but the Franklin Pierce University softball team was swept by Bentley in a Northeast-10 Conference doubleheader at Lassie League Field. Bentley won the first game, 5-2, and the second game, 4-2.

(March 19, 2010) – Sophomore third baseman Meaghan O’Neal (Littleton, Mass.) hit two doubles and a single to drive home five runs on Friday to lead the Franklin Pierce University softball team to a 10-0, six-inning victory over St. Thomas Aquinas in neutral-site, non-conference play at the National Training Center. Later in the day, the Ravens were defeated, 5-0, by No. 20 nationally ranked Rollins. With the split, Franklin Pierce wraps up its spring trip to Florida at 5-8 (0-0 Northeast-10).

Earlier in the day, Franklin Pierce dropped a 3-0 decision to Caldwell. With the split, the Ravens are now 4-7 (0-0 Northeast-10).

(March 16, 2010) – Freshman right-hander Lindsay Hodges (Sherburne, N.Y.) threw a five-hit shutout on Tuesday afternoon to lead the Franklin Pierce University softball team to a 8-0 victory over St. Thomas Aquinas in neutral-site, non-conference action at the National Training Center. Earlier in the day, junior second baseman Emily Griffin (Leominster, Mass.) pounded two doubles and a single, drove home three runs and scored three times as the Ravens ran up a 10-1 victory over Nyack. In between the two wins, Franklin Pierce dropped a 3-0 decision to Limestone.

CLERMONT, Fla. (March 15, 2010) – Junior second baseman Emily Griffin (Leominster, Mass.) clubbed three doubles and drove in five runs on Monday morning to lead the Franklin Pierce University softball team to a 16-3, six-inning victory over Nyack in neutral-site, non-conference play at the National Training Center. Later on Monday, sophomore first baseman Keryn Shannon (Dracut, Mass.) knocked an RBI double, but the Ravens were defeated, 8-1, by Indiana Tech. With the split, Franklin Pierce moves to 1-5 (0-0 Northeast-10) on the season.

The Ravens lost the first game, 3-2, and the second game, 2-1. With the losses, Franklin Pierce falls to 0-4 (0-0 Northeast-10).

The Ravens were defeated by Grand Valley State, 6-0, in the morning, before falling to Saint Joseph’s (Ind.), 3-2, in the afternoon.
