John Losordo is in his first year as head coach of the men's and women's tennis teams at Franklin Pierce. 

"John brings the programs a good blend of instructional and coaching skills which will help our student-athletes improve their game and take the teams back to a competitive standard which they have enjoyed in the past," said Bruce Kirsh, Vice President and Director of Athletics at the University, at the time of his hiring. 

Losordo, a native of Fitchburg, Mass., has worked as a part-time summer tennis professional, conducting private lessons and clinics for 20-25 individuals from elementary aged children to adults since June 2004. Previously he was a part-time professional at Tri Valley Tennis and Fitness Club in Ashland, Mass., for two years, where he was the lead tennis professional for its junior summer camp, and full-time assistant director of tennis at Oak Hill Country Club in Fitchburg for two years.

"I am thankful for the opportunity, and look forward to working with the men's and women's tennis teams at Franklin Pierce," said Losordo. "I am very excited to begin this new chapter in my life and I am optimistic about a positive future for the tennis programs at the University."

Losordo, who has also been a full-time fourth and second grade teacher at John R. Briggs Elementary School, in Ashburnham, Mass., since 2003, is a 2002 graduate of Stonehill College where he was a member of the men's tennis program for two years. He earned his Master of Education degree from Fitchburg State College in 2008. Losordo has worked two stints as assistant varsity tennis coach at Oakmont Regional High School.
