Diego Tabares has been named to the Northeast-10 Conference Weekly
Honor Roll.RINDGE, N.H. (September 8,
2009) – Sophomore midfielder Diego Tabares
(Seekonk, Mass.) of the Franklin Pierce University
men’s soccer team has been named to the Northeast-10
Conference Weekly Honor Roll for the week ending on Sept. 6, as
announced Tuesday by the conference office.
Tabares earned the accolades after a big night against Molloy on
Sunday in the final game of the Franklin Pierce Labor Day Classic.
With the Ravens trailing 3-2 in the second half, Tabares scored in
the 49th minute to tie the match and added the game-winning goal in
the 74th minute to lead Franklin Pierce to a 4-3 victory. He also
assisted on a goal by Victor Goncalves in the
first half.
On the season, Tabares leads the team in scoring through two
matches, with three goals and one assist for seven points.
The Ravens (2-1-1, 0-0-0 Northeast-10) return to the pitch on
Wednesday, Sept. 9, when they travel to Southern New Hampshire for
their Northeast-10 Conference opener. Kickoff is scheduled for 7
p.m. at Larkin Field in Manchester, N.H. Franklin Pierce next plays
at home on Saturday, Sept. 12 against Saint Michael’s at 7
p.m.
