Youth movement gives Revolution needed lift

A week ago, the MetroStars had one healthy field substitute for an MLS game against the Los Angeles Galaxy. Seth Stammler made his professional debut in the final minute of that game, a 2-1 MetroStars victory. The Revolution have been comparatively robust. In two of their last three matches, the Revolution bench has included two field players.

RINDGE, N.H. (October 20, 2003) The last time these two mens soccer rivals met with this much at stake during the regular season was October 7, 1995. That Saturday afternoon, an Alumni Weekend crowd at Crystal Field in Rindge nearing 1,000 witnessed the No. 1-ranked Southern Connecticut State University fall to No. 6-ranked Franklin Pierce, 4-3, as the Ravens netted two goals in the final 2:42 to hand the Owls their first New England Collegiate Conference loss in four seasons and gave then Head Coach Tod Silegy his 200th career victory.
