RINDGE, N.H. (May 19, 2017) – Franklin Pierce University men's lacrosse senior defender Robert Meyers (Pompton Lakes, N.J.) has been named to the Division II New England Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association (NEILA) Academic All-New England Team it was announced Thursday afternoon.
Meyers, a history major, was one of two defenders selected to the nine man Division II team. He was one of 75 senior men's lacrosse players to have earned a selection. The two-year team captain completed his final collegiate season with a team best 24 caused turnovers and 38 groundballs which ranked fifth and 30th in the Northeast-10 conference respectively. On the offensive end he notched two goals and two assists as well.
Members of the team are nominated by head coaches in Divisions I, II and III, and are comprised of student-athletes who have excelled both in the classroom and on the field over the course of their men's lacrosse career. Nominees must have senior standing, a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or better on a 4.0 scale, and be a significant enough player that he was nominated for at least All-Conference selection.
