Casey Cosgrove enters his second season in 2012-13 as the graduate assistant coach for the Franklin Pierce men's basketball team.
In his first season as assistant coach in 2011-12, Cosgrove helped guide Franklin Pierce to a Northeast-10 Conference regular season championship and the top seed in the East Regional of the NCAA Division II Tournament.
Cosgrove came to the Ravens bench last season after an impressive playing career for Adelphi University. Cosgrove initially attended Division I Quinnipiac University on a full basketball scholarship, but transferred to Adelphi and earned All-East Coast Conference Second-Team honors in 2009. He served as a team captain for the Panthers and was his squad's MVP.
Cosgrove graduated from Adelphi in May 2010 with a bachelor's degree in sports management. After graduation he served as a volunteer assistant coach at Trinity College in Hartford, Conn. He then spent time as a coach and trainer for the Rising Stars AAU program in Flushing, N.Y. While working with the Rising Stars, he constructed game and practice plans, trained athletes individually and scheduled tournaments and practices.
He also has experience working with various summer camps and leagues as a coach and counselor.
