Ice Hockey Rallies Past Johnson & Wales, 5-4, In Overtime On Opening Night

WINCHENDON, Mass. (November 6, 2009) – Freshman forward Michael Carr (South Boston, Mass.) stuffed home a rebound for his second goal of the night with just over three seconds remaining in overtime on Friday night to give the Franklin Pierce University ice hockey team a 5-4 victory over Johnson & Wales in non-conference play at The Winchendon School Ice Arena. Freshman forward Jason Pietrasiak scored twice and added an assist for Johnson & Wales in defeat. The game was the season-opener for both teams.

130 Franklin Pierce Student-Athletes Named to NE-10 Spring Commissioner’s Honor Roll

(July 23, 2009) – 130 of Franklin Pierce University’s 276 student-athletes, who compete in Northeast-10 Conference sports have been recognized as members of the Conference’s Commissioner’s Honor Roll for the Spring 2009 semester. The 130 Ravens are part of the 2,619 student-athletes from the NE-10’s 15 member institutions that earned a 3.0 semester grade point average (on a 4.0 scale) or higher.

(February 28, 2009) – Five different players recorded two points each on Saturday afternoon to lead sixth-seeded Stonehill to a 5-0 victory over the third-seeded Franklin Pierce University ice hockey team in the quarterfinal round of the Northeast-10 Conference Championships at The Winchendon School Ice Arena. Five different players scored goals for Stonehill. Freshman goaltender Ben Siok (Holden, Mass./St. John’s Shrewsbury) made 31 saves for Franklin Pierce in defeat.

(February 27, 2009) – The third-seeded Franklin Pierce University ice hockey team will host a postseason game for the first time in program history on Saturday afternoon, when it plays host to sixth-seeded Stonehill in the first round of the Northeast-10 Conference Championships. Faceoff is scheduled for 3 p.m. at The Winchendon School Ice Arena in Winchendon, Mass. The winner advances to play in a semifinal contest on Wednesday, March 4.
