Jaymie Harrington is in his second season as Head Ice Hockey Coach at Franklin Pierce in 2009-10. He was named the third head coach in the varsity era (since 2002) of the Franklin Pierce University ice hockey program on June 24, 2008, after serving one year as assistant coach. Harrington enters his second season behind the Ravens' bench with a 5-18-2 record.

In his first year as bench boss in Rindge in 2008-09, the Ravens earned the third seed in the Northeast-10 Conference Championship and hosted a postseason game for the first time in program history. Harrington guided a pair of players to All-Northeast-10 Conference accolades in his rookie campaign in First-Team selection Phil LaBreck and All-Rookie Team honoree Anthony Chighisola. Chighisola enjoyed a standout freshman campaign in which he led the Ravens with 12 goals while playing in 24 games. The freshman added 14 assists to finish tied with LaBreck in scoring, with 26 points.

Under Harrington, the Ravens also enjoyed success in the classroom in 2008-09. Sean Carroll, Phil LaBreck, Shane Murphy, Rob Perretta, Coursen Schneider and Sean Woodring were all named to the ECAC Northeast All-Academic Team at the conclusion of the season, while LaBreck and Woodring both landed on the Northeast-10 Conference Winter All-Academic Team.

Prior to taking over head coaching duties, Harrington assisted former head coach Scott Loiseau in all aspects of team recruiting and game-day preparation and played a key role in the improvement of the program from a competitive standpoint in 2007-08. The coaching staff brought a new-found discipline to the program, as Franklin Pierce decreased its penalty total by nearly 300 minutes from the 2006-07 season.

In addition to matching the program record for wins in the varsity era, posting a 6-19-0 overall record, 14 of Franklin Pierce's losses were by two goals or less, including 11 by a single goal, and five in overtime. The Ravens set numerous single-season offensive team records, including goals (93), assists (151), points (244) and power-play goals (47), and finished the regular season with the third-best power play in the nation (30.5-percent).

Harrington joined Franklin Pierce from NCAA Division I Canisius College, from which he graduated in 2007 with a Bachelor's Degree in physical education. A four-year letterwinner with the Golden Griffins, he recorded 11 goals and 16 assists for 27 points in 114 collegiate games.

Prior to attending Canisius, Harrington spent four years skating for St. John's High School in Shrewsbury, Mass., playing a role in the school's 1999 Div. I State Championship. The forward also played one season for the Boston Jr. Bruins (Eastern Junior Hockey League), where he finished third on the team in scoring with a line of 39-35-74, and two years with the Dubuque Saints and the Chicago Steel of the United States Hockey League (USHL).

A native of Sterling, Mass., Harrington currently resides in Rindge, N.H. He is currently pursuing his Master's Degree in elementary education at Franklin Pierce.
