RINDGE, N.H. (November 12, 2008)
– Freshman forward Anthony
Chighisola (Whitman, Mass./Archbishop Williams) of the
Franklin Pierce University ice hockey team has been named
Northeast-10 Conference Freshman of the Week for the week ending on
Nov. 9, as announced Wednesday by the conference office. In
addition, senior forward Jeff
Kasper (South Boston, Mass./Catholic Memorial) has been
named to the conference’s Weekly Honor Roll.
Chighisola netted the game-tying goal with 4:27 to play in
regulation during Franklin Pierce’s season-opening, 2-2 tie
at Westfield State on Nov. 8. For Chighisola, it marked his first
career goal in his first collegiate game.
Kasper scored the other goal of the game for the Ravens. His
power-play tally with just 37 seconds remaining in the second
period cut a 2-0 Westfield State lead in half heading into the
second intermission.
The Ravens (0-0-1, 0-0-1 ECAC Northeast) return to the ice later
tonight, when they travel to Nichols for a non-conference contest.
Faceoff is scheduled for 7 p.m. at Levy Rink in Harrisville, R.I.

Jeff Kasper has been named to the Northeast-10 Conference Weekly
Honor Roll.
