Anthony Chighisola Named Northeast-10 Conference Freshman Of The Week

RINDGE, N.H. (January 19, 2009) –
Freshman forward Anthony
Chighisola (Whitman, Mass.) of the Franklin Pierce
University ice hockey team has been named Northeast-10 Conference
Freshman of the Week for the week ending on Jan. 18, as announced
Monday by the conference office. In addition, junior forward Phil LaBreck (Thornton, N.H./John Stark
Regional), senior forward Coursen Schneider (Stony Point, N.Y./Avon
(Conn.) Old Farms)
and junior goaltender Jon Tuttle
(Concord, N.H./Concord) have all been named to the
conference’s Weekly Honor Roll.
Chighisola tallied three goals and three assists for six points in
a 1-2-0 week for the Ravens. He potted three goals in a 4-0 win at
Southern New Hampshire on Jan. 15 to record his first career hat
trick. Then, on Saturday, he assisted on all three Franklin Pierce
goals in a 10-3 loss at Curry. For Chighisola, it is the third
Freshman of the Week selection this season, as he previously
garnered the honors on Nov. 12 and Dec. 8.
LaBreck also posted six points on the week, all coming via the
assist. He assisted on all four Franklin Pierce goals in the win at
Southern New Hampshire and then assisted on two of the team’s
three goals at Curry.
Schneider collected two goals and an assist to total three points
over the course of the week. He provided an assist at Southern New
Hampshire before netting two goals at Curry.
Tuttle made 64 saves en route to a 1-1-0 record last week. At
Southern New Hampshire, he stopped all 30 shots to record the first
shutout in program history. At Curry, Tuttle made 34 saves but took
the loss.
The Ravens (4-8-2, 1-1-0, NE-10, 3-5-2 ECAC Northeast) return to
the ice on Wednesday, Jan. 21, when they return home to host
Framingham State in an ECAC Northeast Conference contest. Faceoff
is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. at The Winchendon School Ice Arena in
Winchendon, Mass.


Anthony Chighisola has been named Northeast-10 Conference Freshman
