(Jan. 20, 2005) – The Franklin Pierce ice hockey team dropped a 5-4 heartbreaker to the Wentworth Institute of Technology in ECAC Northeast competition tonight at the Matthews Arena in Boston, Mass. Junior Mark Cavanagh (Warwick, R.I./Toll Gate) scored a power play goal at the 18:59 mark of the third period to break a 4-4 tie, and the Leopards held the Ravens scoreless for the final minute of play to preserve their undefeated conference record.

Reynolds Earns Weekly Honors
RINDGE, N.H. (Jan. 10, 2005) – Franklin Pierce freshman Ben Reynolds (Wallingford, Pa./Green Mountain Glades) was named the Northeast-10 Conference ice hockey Freshman of the Week by the Conference office on Monday for the first time of his career. He was also named ECAC Northeast Rookie of the Week for the first time on Tuesday. In three games last week, he totaled five points on three goals and two assists.

POMFRET, CONN. (Nov. 22, 2004) – The Franklin Pierce ice hockey team fell 6-2 to ECAC Northeast Conference foe Nichols College tonight at Brown Rink. After a scoreless first period, Nichols exploded for six straight goals, including four in the second period. Freshman Brian Buonomo (Edison, N.J./Metro Fighting Moose) piled up four points on a goal and three assists, and classmate Jack Avetissian (Glendale, Calif./Portland Jr. Pioneers) netted two goals and assisted on another, as the Bison earned their first win of the season.

Leading the way for the hosts was junior tri-captain Mark Gibbons (Quincy, Mass./Archbishop Williams), who netted two goals. Classmate Jason Pierce (Maynard, Mass./Nashoba Regional) and freshman Ben Reynolds (Wallingford, Pa./Green Mountain Glades) chipped in with a goal and two assists apiece, as the Ravens earned their first win of the season.

The visiting Penmen were led by senior co-captain Pat Doherty (Wakefield, Mass./Wakefield), who totaled a game-high three points on two goals and an assist.

Franklin Pierce Blanked by Curry in Opener, 11-0
MILTON, Mass. (Nov. 8, 2004) – The Franklin Pierce Ice Hockey team fell 11-0 to host Curry College in season opening ECAC Northeast Conference competition this evening at the Max Ulin Hockey Rink. The Colonels outshot the Ravens 54-8 and netted one goal in the first period before exploding for seven in the second period and three in the final frame. Sophomore Ryan Moore (Randolph, Mass./Walpole Junior Stars) tallied a game-high four points on a goal and three assists, while Chad Pillsbury (Groton, Mass./Junior Bruins), George Cademartori (Warrenville, Ill./Springfield Junior Blues) and Casey Reasonover (East Falmouth, Mass./UMass Boston) notched two goals and an assist for three points each.
