Golf Concludes 2010-11 Season with Win at FPU Spring Invitational
RINDGE, N.H. (April 26, 2011) -- The Franklin Pierce University golf team concluded its 2010-11 season on Tuesday by winning the FPU Spring Invitational at The Shattuck in Jaffrey, N.H. The Ravens shot a 47-over-par, 335, to win the event, while the Franklin Pierce #2 team placed second with a 336 (+48). Worcester State placed third with a 357 (+69).

Golf Finishes 6th at Elms Invitational; Freshman Adam Spencer Cards Top-10 Finish in Individual Standings
WESTOVER, Mass. (April 22, 2011) – The Franklin Pierce University golf team placed sixth out of seven teams at the 2011 Elms College Blazers Invitational on Thursday at the Westover Country Club in Westover, Mass. The Ravens shot a 70-over-par, 358, during the tournament, while host-school Elms won the event with a 320 (+32).

Golf Finishes 8th at AIC Spring Invitational
SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (April 20, 2011) -- The Franklin Pierce University golf team finished eighth at the 2011 AIC Sprinvitational on Tuesday at the Springfield Golf Club in Springfield, Mass. The Ravens shot a final round 328 (+40), to finish the tournament with a two-round total of 676 (+100). Host-school, American International, won the tournament with an 18-over par, 594.

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (April 18, 2011) -- The Franklin Pierce University golf team sits in eighth place following the first day of competition at the AIC Spring Invitational at the Springfield Golf Club in Springfield, Mass. The Ravens carded a 60-over, 348, during the opening round on Monday. Host-school American International sits in first place after one round as the Yellow Jackets shot a seven-over par, 295, during the first round.

DRACUT, Mass. (April 17, 2011) -- The Franklin Pierce University golf team placed 10th out of 13 teams this past weekend at the 2011 River Hawk Invitational at Meadow Creek Golf Club in Dracut, Mass. The Ravens carded a two-round total of 687 (+119), while American International won the tournament with a 56-over par, 624.

Golf Opens Spring Season this Past Weekend
ENDICOTT, N.Y. (April 10, 2011) -- The Franklin Pierce University golf team opened its 2011 spring schedule this weekend as the Ravens competed at the Mike Bello Invitational at the En-Joie Golf Club in Endicott, N.Y. Franklin Pierce finished 11th out of 12 teams after the Ravens carded a 689 (+113).

Golf Finishes 23rd Out of 37 Teams at NEIGA Championship
CAPE COD, Mass. (October 19, 2010) -- The Franklin Pierce University golf team shot a 38-over-par, 326, during the final round on Tuesday to finish the 2010 New England Intercollegiate Golf Association (NEIGA) Championship in 23rd place out of 37 teams. The Ravens also shot a 326 during the first round on Monday and finished with a two-round total of 652 (+76).

(October 18, 2010) -- The Franklin Pierce University golf team sits in 21st place out of 37 teams following the first day of the 2010 New England Intercollegiate Golf Association (NEIGA) Championship at The Captains Golf Course in Cape Cod, Mass. The Ravens shot a first-round 38-over-par, 326, on Monday. Franklin Pierce is ahead of 16 other teams in the field, including Division I school and Big East member Providence College.

Golf Finishes Second at FPU Fall Invitational
RINDGE, N.H. (October 13, 2010) -- The Franklin Pierce University golf team finished second at the FPU Fall Invitational on Wednesday afternoon at The Shattuck Golf Course in Jaffrey, N.H. The Ravens shot a 44-over-par, 332, while Le Moyne won the invitational with a 327 (+39). Franklin Pierce Junior co-captain B.J. Powers (Southbury, Conn.), just two days after his dramatic individual championship at the SNHU Penmen Invitational, shot a seven-over-par, 79, to finish third in the individual standings. It marked his fifth top-10 finish of the fall.

Powers (Southbury, Conn.) won the individual title at the SNHU Penmen Invitational as he carded a birdie on the first playoff hole to pick up his first medalist honor this season. The Ravens, as a team, finished fourth overall with a two-round team score of 637 (+61) at the Country Club of New Hampshire in North Sutton.

The Ravens carded a 36-over-par, 324, during the day and will enter the final round on Monday just eight shots off the lead, held by both Assumption and Bentley (+28, 316).

Powers (Southbury, Conn.) and sophomore Ian Landry (Loudon, N.H.) each carded a three-over-par 75 on Sunday afternoon to put themselves in a tie for seventh individually, while the Franklin Pierce University golf team sits in third-place after the first day of the Northeast Intercollegiate Championship, hosted by Post at Tunxis Plantation Golf Course. Through the first day, the Ravens are five shots behind Post and Wilmington (Del.), which are tied for the lead.

Former Golfer Brandon Weiner Now Working with NFL's New York Jets
Brandon Weiner (Class '10) hasn't had a lot of down time recently to relax. Weiner had a busy 2009-10 academic year at Franklin Pierce University in which he was completing his coursework for graduation, serving as a senior captain on the Ravens golf team, devoting numerous hours as a student assistant in the school's athletic communications office and finally graduating in May with a degree in sports and recreation management. If that wasn't exciting enough, Weiner immediately left Rindge following graduation to move back home to New Jersey to start a new chapter in his life. That chapter, which is currently being written, involves Weiner's first full-time job, which happens to be as a ticket sales representative with the National Football League's New York Jets.
