BERNARDSTON, Mass. (October 5, 2009) - The Franklin Pierce University men's golf team placed ninth out of 12 teams with a score of 656 (+80) at the 2009 Northeast-10 Conference Championship. The two-round event was held Sunday and Monday at the Crumpin-Fox Golf Club in Bernardston, Mass., and was hosted by American International.

Golf Ties For Third At Blazers Invitational

CHICOPEE, Mass. (September 30, 2009) – Sophomore Brian Fleckles (Seekonk, Mass.) shot a 77 on Wednesday afternoon to place third individually and lead the Franklin Pierce University golf team to a team score of 331 and a tie for third-place out of 12 teams at the second Blazers Invitational of the season, hosted by Elms, at Chicopee Country Club. Anna Maria freshman Nate McNamara took home medalist honors as he carded a 72. Westfield State captured the team championship by 10 shots with a score of 319.

Men's Golf Tabbed 12th in Northeast-10 Preseason Poll

RINDGE, N.H. (September 24, 2009) – The Franklin Pierce University men’s golf team was picked to finish 12th in the Northeast-10 Conference, according to the league’s preseason poll which was announced on Thursday. The poll was voted on by the league’s 12 head coaches prior to the start of the fall season. The 2009 Northeast-10 Conference Men’s Golf Championship will be held on Oct. 4-5, at the Crumpin-Fox Golf Club in Bernardston, Mass.

Golf Places 12th At Northeast Intercollegiate Championship

BLOOMFIELD, Conn. (September 21, 2009) – Senior Peter Panopoulos (Rindge, N.H.) shot a second-round 77 on Monday afternoon to finish with a two-day total of 154 and lead the Franklin Pierce University golf team to a team score of 640 and 12th place finish out of 17 teams at the Northeast Intercollegiate Championship, hosted by Post at Wintonbury Hills Golf Club. Panopoulos’ 154 put him in a four-way tie for 19th overall. American International junior Greg Strattner and sophomore Kevin Daniels tied for medalist honors at 144 to lead AIC to the team title with a two-day score of 591.

(September 20, 2009) – Senior Peter Panopoulos (Rindge, N.H.) shot a 77 on Sunday afternoon to lead the Franklin Pierce University golf team to a team score of 322 and a tie for 13th place out of 17 teams after the first day of the Northeast Intercollegiate Championship, hosted by Post at Wintonbury Hills Golf Club. Panopoulos’ 77 ties him for 20th position after the first day of the championship, which will conclude on Monday. American International junior Greg Strattner shot a 69 to lead all players on Sunday and lead AIC to a 294 and the first-round lead.

(July 23, 2009) – 130 of Franklin Pierce University’s 276 student-athletes, who compete in Northeast-10 Conference sports have been recognized as members of the Conference’s Commissioner’s Honor Roll for the Spring 2009 semester. The 130 Ravens are part of the 2,619 student-athletes from the NE-10’s 15 member institutions that earned a 3.0 semester grade point average (on a 4.0 scale) or higher.

JAFFREY, N.H. (April 29, 2009) – Castleton State College captured the team title by just a stroke at the Franklin Pierce Spring Invitational on the 6,077-yard par-71 layout at The Shattuck this afternoon. Franklin Pierce freshmen Brian Fleckles (Sandwich, Mass./Sandwich) and Robert Greggerson (Seekonk, Mass./Seekonk) along with Castleton’s Brian Hopkins were tri-medalists at the event after posting identical rounds of 82.
