Greg Scerbinski is entering his first year as head coach of the Franklin Pierce University golf team. He takes over the program after serving as an assistant coach for one year under Owen Houghton who retired at the conclusion of the 2008-09 season after 22 years of service with the program.
Scerbinski joined the Franklin
Pierce golf team after retiring following 34 years of teaching at
ConVal High School in nearby Peterborough, N.H. He also served as
the Cougars varsity golf
coach from 2000-2008. Prior to his 34 years at ConVal, Scerbinski
was an English teacher in the New York City school system for four
years.
Scerbinski astarted his own website design company, Blue Bass Design, in 2004. He is also currently an adjunct professor of World History in the Humanities Department at Franklin Pierce.
Scerbinski is active in the community, having coached at varying levels of youth sports organizations in Peterborough. He was also President of the Peterborough Unitarian Universalist Church from 1998-2000.
Scerbinski earned his Bachelor of
Arts degree in economics from Fordham University in 1970 and holds
a master's degree in sociology from New School for Social Research
in New York. He divides his time in the summer months between golf
and fishing/sailing and body boarding on Cape Cod.
