(November 2, 2009) – Sophomore midfielder Kimberly Jaksina (Townsend, Mass.) of the Franklin Pierce University field hockey team has been named to the All-Northeast-10 Conference Second Team, as announced Friday night by the conference office. In addition, freshman midfielder Alyssa Juszczyk (Warren, Mass.) has been named to the conference’s All-Rookie Team.

Abernethy Ties Assist Record, Field Hockey Wins Finale, 2-1, At Saint Michael’s
RINDGE, N.H. (October 24, 2009) – Senior forward Ashley Abernethy (Bellingham, Mass.) tied the program record for career assists with 8:15 remaining in the final game of her career, as the Franklin Pierce University field hockey team squeaked out a 2-1 road victory over Saint Michael’s in the season finale for both teams at Duffy Field on Saturday afternoon. Sophomore forward Tia Levins (Manchester, Maine) was the one who benefited from Abernethy’s record-tying assist, as Levins tallied the game-winning goal.

Field Hockey Stays Alive, Slips Past Saint Anselm, 3-2
RINDGE, N.H. (October 21, 2009) – Sophomore forward Danielle Dolan (West Brookfield, Mass.) and sophomore midfielder Kimberly Jaksina (Townsend, Mass.) scored 3:32 apart early in the second half to lead the Franklin Pierce University field hockey team back from a 2-1 deficit to a 3-2 victory over Saint Anselm in Northeast-10 Conference play at Sodexo Field. Junior midfielder Ellen O’Neil and junior back Sara Griffin each scored for Saint Anselm in defeat.

(October 17, 2009) – Junior forward Sammy Macy scored with 1:54 remaining in regulation on Saturday afternoon to break a 2-2 tie and allow No. 5 nationally ranked Massachusetts Lowell to escape with a 3-2 victory over the Franklin Pierce University field hockey team in Northeast-10 Conference play at Sodexo Field. Senior forward Katie Debler (Walpole, Mass.) and sophomore midfielder Kimberly Jaksina (Townsend, Mass.) scored in defeat for Franklin Pierce.

NEW HAVEN, Conn. (October 15, 2009) – The Franklin Pierce University field hockey team dominated large stretches of play and chalked up a 20-5 advantage in shots on Thursday night, but was ultimately defeated, 1-0, by Southern Connecticut State in Northeast-10 Conference play at Jess Dow Field. Freshman midfielder Lyndel Vagnini scored the lone goal of the game with 10:12 to play in regulation.

GARDEN CITY, N.Y. (October 10, 2009) – Sophomore forward Julianne Gerbino scored the only goal of the game 10:30 into overtime on Saturday afternoon to give Adelphi a 1-0 victory over the Franklin Pierce University field hockey team in Northeast-10 Conference play at Competition Field. Sophomore goalkeeper Brittany Nyzio (Attleboro, Mass.) made five saves for Franklin Pierce in defeat.

Field Hockey Knocks Off No. 4 Stonehill on Wednesday
RINDGE, N.H. (October 7, 2009) – The Franklin Pierce University field hockey team pulled off one of the biggest wins in program history Wednesday night as the Ravens downed fourth-ranked Stonehill, 3-1, at Sodexo Field in Rindge, N.H. The Ravens ran their record to 7-6 overall and 3-2 in the Northeast-10. Stonehill dipped to 10-3 and 4-1 in the league.

(October 3, 2009) – Junior midfielder Jordan Baillargeon (Westfield, Mass.) broke a 1-1 tie with the game-winning goal with 18:08 to play in regulation on Saturday night to lead the Franklin Pierce University field hockey team to a 2-1 victory over American International in non-conference play at R.J. Abdow Field. Graduate student forward Jacki Lapointe scored the lone goal of the game for AIC.

(September 30, 2009) – Sophomore forward Lauren L’Heureux (Sanford, Maine) netted the first goal of her career and the only goal of the game on Wednesday afternoon to lead the Franklin Pierce University field hockey team to a 1-0 victory over Assumption in Northeast-10 Conference play at Sodexo Field. Sophomore goalkeeper Brittany Nyzio (Attleboro, Mass.) stopped the only shot on her cage for Franklin Pierce to earn her first career shutout.

Sophomore goalkeeper Brittany Nyzio (Attleboro, Mass.) made seven saves in net for Franklin Pierce in defeat.

RINDGE, N.H. (August 30, 2009) – The Franklin Pierce University field hockey team opens its 2009 season this week with a trio of contests. The Ravens will travel to Assumption at 7 p.m. on Monday, Aug. 31, host Southern Connecticut State at 6 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 2 at Sodexo Field and will travel to No. 8 nationally ranked Stonehill at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 5. Though all three games are against fellow Northeast-10 Conference schools, each game is a non-conference contest.

RINDGE, N.H. (August 20, 2009) – The Franklin Pierce University field hockey team has been selected sixth in the Northeast-10 Conference Preseason Coaches Poll, as announced Thursday by the conference office. The Ravens tallied 65 points in the 11-team poll.
