RINDGE, N.H. (October 26,
2009) – Sophomore forward Danielle Dolan
(West Brookfield, Mass.) of the Franklin Pierce University
field hockey team has been named Northeast-10 Conference Co-Player
of the week for the week ending on Oct. 25, as announced Monday by
the conference office.
Dolan scored two key goals last week as Franklin Pierce picked up
season-closing wins over Saint Anselm and Saint Michael’s. On
Wednesday against Saint Anselm, her second-half goal tied the score
at 2-2 at the time, as the Ravens were en route to a 3-2 win. On
Saturday at Saint Michael’s, Dolan again scored in the second
half to knot the game at 1-1 as Franklin Pierce rallied for a 2-1
victory. Dolan splits the weekly award with Stonehill senior Claire
Hourihan.
On the season, Dolan led Franklin Pierce with six goals and 14
points, eclipsing the totals from her Northeast-10 All-Rookie
campaign of 2008 in both categories. She also added the first two
assists of her career while playing in all 18 games for the Ravens,
including 16 starts. Through two seasons in Rindge, she has scored
11 goals, which is tied for eighth in program history, to go with
24 points, which ties her for 11th in school history.
The Ravens (9-9, 5-5 Northeast-10) recently concluded the
program’s most successful season since the 2003 squad went
9-9 (8-8 Northeast-10). It marks Franklin Pierce’s most
successful campaign yet under fourth-year head coach
Meighan Guiney.

Danielle Dolan has been named Northeast-10 Conference Co-Player of
the Week.
