RINDGE, N.H. (September 28,
2009) – Sophomore forward Tia Levins
(Manchester, Maine) of the Franklin Pierce University
field hockey team has been named to the Northeast-10 Conference
Weekly Honor Roll for the week ending on Sept. 21, as announced
Monday by the conference office.
All of Levins’ scoring last week came in Franklin
Pierce’s 3-1 win over Saint Michael’s on Tuesday
afternoon, when she scored the game-winning goal and also added an
assist. The three points gave her four goals and an assist for nine
points over a three-game span which began with her first collegiate
start at Saint Anselm on Sept. 16. Levins attempted a pair of
shots, but did not find the back of the cage at No. 8 nationally
ranked Bentley on Saturday afternoon.
For Levins, this is her second consecutive selection to the
Northeast-10 Weekly Honor Roll. On the season, she leads the team
with four goals and has one assist to tally a team-high nine
points. She has attempted 20 shots (12 on goal) and netted three
game-winning goals over 10 games, including four starts.
The Ravens (4-6, 1-2 Northeast-10) return to the field on
Wednesday, Sept. 30, when they return home to host Assumption in a
Northeast-10 Conference contest. Game time is set for 4 p.m. at
Sodexo Field in Rindge.
