Kimberly Jaksina Named Northeast-10 Conference Freshman Of The Week

RINDGE, N.H. (October 27, 2008) –
Freshman midfielder Kimberly
Jaksina (Townsend, Mass./North Middlesex) of the Franklin
Pierce University field hockey team has been named Northeast-10
Conference Freshman of the Week for the week ending on Oct. 26, as
announced Monday by the conference office.
Despite an 0-2 week for Franklin Pierce, Jaksina was able to garner
the accolades as she scored the first goal of her career on
Saturday afternoon at Massachusetts Lowell.
This marks the third time this season a Franklin Pierce player has
captured the Freshman of the Week award, the most selections of any
school in the conference. Goalkeeper Kristin Tormollan (Waterville,
Maine/Waterville) was named Freshman of the Week on Sept. 8,
while forward Danielle Dolan (West
Brookfield, Mass./Quabog Regional) nabbed the honors on Oct.
6.
The Ravens (7-12, 7-11 NE-10) return to the field on Wednesday,
Oct. 29 when they travel to Southern Connecticut State for the
quarterfinal round of the Northeast-10 Conference Championships.
Game time is scheduled for 3 p.m. at Jess Dow Field in New Haven,
Conn.
