Four Ravens Named to 2007 ZAG/NFHCA Div. II Academic Squad
RINDGE, N.H. (February 25, 2008) – Four Franklin Pierce University field hockey players received recognition by the National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) on Monday for their academic success.

Ellis named to NE-10 All-Academic First Team
RINDGE, N.H. (November 9, 2007) – Senior co-captain Elizabeth Ellis (Turner, Maine/Leavitt) of the Franklin Pierce University women’s field hockey team was named to the Northeast-10 Conference All-Academic first team by the conference’s Sports Information Directors, the conference announced on Thursday.

Ellis and Huszar Named NFHCA Div. II Senior All-Stars
RINDGE, N.H. (November 1, 2007) – Franklin Pierce University senior Elizabeth Ellis (Turner, Maine/Leavitt) and graduate student Mary Beth Huszar (Greenville, N.H./Mascenic Regional) were both named to the 2007 National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) Div. II Senior All-Star team, the association announced on Tuesday.

Franklin Pierce Defeated By #6 Bentley, 2-0
RINDGE, N.H. (October 20, 2007) – Franklin Pierce University dropped a 2-0 match to Bentley College, ranked sixth in this week’s NFHCA Div. II National Coaches Poll, in a Northeast-10 Conference women’s field hockey match on Senior Day at Sodexho Field. The match marked the end of the 2007 regular season for both teams.

LOWELL, Mass. (October 16, 2007) – Sammy Macy (Tewksbury, Mass./Tewksbury) scored twice and added an assist as the University of Massachusetts-Lowell, ranked fourth in this week’s NFHCA Div. II National Coaches Poll, defeated Franklin Pierce University by a 5-1 margin on Tuesday evening in a Northeast-10 Conference field hockey match at the Cushing Field Complex.

RINDGE, N.H. (October 13, 2007) – Grad student Mary Beth Huszar (Greenville, N.H./Mascenic Regional) scored twice, but Franklin Pierce University fell to Southern Connecticut State University by a score of 4-3 in a Northeast-10 Conference women’s field hockey match on Franklin Pierce Alumni and Reunion Weekend on Saturday afternoon at Sodexho Field.

(October 10, 2007) – Despite a career-high three goals from Raven freshman Emily Morrissey (Hubbardston, Mass./Quabbin Regional), Brittany O’Brien (Stowe, Vt./Stowe) scored the game-winning goal 1:06 into overtime as Saint Michael’s College narrowly escaped with a 4-3 overtime win over Franklin Pierce University in a Northeast-10 Conference women’s field hockey match on Wednesday evening at Sodexho Field.

(October 4, 2007) – For the first time this season, the Franklin Pierce University field hockey team found more than just statistics to back up its domination of play ­– it found results. Junior Stephanie Howard (Norwalk, Conn./Norwalk) had her first career two-goal game and freshman Tevis Hannington (Canton, Mass./Notre Dame Academy) made three saves for her first career shutout as the Ravens defeated Saint Anselm College by a score of 3-0 in a Northeast-10 Conference field hockey match on Thursday night at Sodexho Field.

COLCHESTER, Vt. (September 12, 2007) – The Franklin Pierce University field hockey team dropped a 6-1 game to Saint Michael’s College in Northeast-10 Conference action on Wednesday afternoon at Duffy Field. Graduate student Mary Beth Huszar (Greenville, N.H./Mascenic Regional) scored the lone goal of the game for the Ravens at the 53:59 mark in the second half.

RINDGE, N.H. (September 8, 2007) – The Franklin Pierce University field hockey team dominated play for most of the day, but still dropped a tough 2-1 match to American International College in a Northeast-10 contest on Saturday afternoon at Sodexho Field. Sophomore Ashley Abernethy (Bellingham, Mass./ Bellingham) scored the lone goal of the game for the Ravens in the 55th minute.

II national poll, into overtime before falling by a score of 3-2 on Thursday evening at the Charles A. Dana Athletic Center.

RINDGE, N.H. (September 4, 2007) – The Franklin Pierce University field hockey team dropped a 3-0 decision to Stonehill College, ranked third in the latest STX/NFHCA national Div. II poll, on Tuesday afternoon at Sodexho Field. Raven junior goaltender Stephanie Howard (Norwalk, Conn./Norwalk) made a career-high 11 saves and held the Skyhawks scoreless over the final 60:31 to keep her team close.

Franklin Pierce Falls To Assumption In Overtime, 3-2
WORCESTER, Mass. (September 1, 2007) – The Franklin Pierce University field hockey team dropped a 3-2 overtime decision to Assumption College on Saturday afternoon at H.L. Rocheleau Field. The Greyhounds’ Sarah Ranieri (Bellingham, Mass./Bellingham) scored the game-winning tally 50 seconds into overtime in the first Northeast-10 game of the season for the Ravens.

Franklin Pierce Falls To Southern Connecticut, 3-1
NEW HAVEN, Conn. (August 28, 2007) – The Franklin Pierce University field hockey team dropped its 2007 season opener to Southern Connecticut State, 3-1, on Tuesday afternoon at Jess Dow Field. Three different Owls scored for the home team, including two goals in the first half that provided the winning margin in the first matchup of the season for both teams.
