Kevin Rivers Named Northwest League Offensive Player of the Week

EVERETT, Wash. (August 31, 2010) – Outfielder Kevin Rivers (Bristol, Conn.), who played for the Franklin Pierce University baseball team from 2007 through 2009, has been named Northwest League Offensive Player of the Week for the week ending on Aug. 29. Rivers is currently playing with the Everett AquaSox, the Class-A, short-season affiliate of the Seattle Mariners.

Derek Ingui Featured in "The Item"

Senior third baseman Derek Ingui (Sterling, Mass.) of the Franklin Pierce University baseball team was featured in the Aug. 20 edition of "The Item". The Massachusetts newspaper caught up with Ingui and discussed his Franklin Pierce career, as well as his summer with the Danbury Westerners of the NECBL. Ravens Minor Leaguers in Search of Big League Success

No strangers to success at the collegiate level, the Franklin Pierce University baseball program has begun to see success at the next level, as well. Franklin Pierce has had at least one player selected in the Major League Baseball First-Year Player Draft every year since 2001. Over that time period, the Ravens have seen 17 players selected by big league franchises. The only schools in New England producing more draft picks over the last nine years are Boston College (34) and Connecticut (24).

Baseball To Host Alumni Game And Golf Outing, Honor 2010 Regional Championship Team on Oct. 2

In a day which also features a golf tournament and an alumni game, the 2010 NCAA Northeast Regional championship squad will presented with rings commemorating their regional title.

Freshman right-hander Joe Flynn (Plymouth, Mass.) of the Franklin Pierce University baseball team was featured in the Sunday edition of The Boston Globe. Mike Dowd Featured in The Enterprise

Sophomore catcher Mike Dowd (East Bridgewater, Mass.) of the Franklin Pierce University baseball team was featured in the Wednesday edition of The Enterprise. The Brockton newspaper took a look at the summer of the Dowd brothers, with Mike (as a player) and Sean (in the front office) both spending time with the Brewster Whitecaps of the Cape Cod Baseball League. (August 2, 2010) – Freshman right-hander Joe Flynn (Plymouth, Mass.) of the Franklin Pierce University baseball team has been named Cape Cod Baseball League Pitcher of the Week for the week ending on July 31, as announced Sunday by the league. He allowed just one earned run over 13 innings last week.

(June 2, 2010) – The East Region champion and national semifinalist Franklin Pierce University baseball team has been ranked No. 6 nationally in the final Collegiate Baseball Newspaper Poll, as announced Tuesday by the publication. In addition, the Ravens finished their 2010 campaign No. 7 in the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association Poll and also placed seventh in the Ping!Baseball Top-30 Rankings.

No. 13/24 Baseball Clipped By No. 6/9 Kutztown, 2-1, at NCAA Championship National Finals

CARY, N.C. (May 23, 2010) – On a night when both teams had to battle not only each other, but the elements as well, Kutztown junior second baseman Brett Wigder blooped a single over a drawn-in infield to give his team a 2-1 victory over the No. 13/24 nationally ranked and East Region champion Franklin Pierce University baseball team in the bottom of the 12th inning on Sunday on the second day of the NCAA Championship National Finals, hosted by Mount Olive at the USA Baseball National Training Center.
