Rivers will report to the Mariners rookie-level, Arizona League affiliate in Peoria, Ariz.

After a rain delay of two hours and 18 minutes, Franklin Pierce collected 12 hits to win its second elimination contest of the day.

(May 7, 2009) Sophomore designated hitter Derek Ingui (Sterling, Mass./Wachusett Regional) of the Franklin Pierce University baseball team has been named to the CoSIDA/ESPN: The Magazine Academic All-District I Second Team in the College Division (Division II and III institutions), as announced Thursday by College Sports Information Directors of America. To be eligible for selection to the All-District teams, a student athlete must be at least a sophomore academically, must have completed at least one academic year at their current institution, must hold a 3.30 cumulative grade-point average or greater and must have participated in half of their teams games.

(May 2, 2009) Junior right-hander Kyle Vazquez (Berlin, Conn./Berlin) threw a 10-innings, three-hit shutout and recorded a career-high 15 strikeouts on Saturday afternoon to lead the Franklin Pierce University baseball team to a 1-0 victory over Massachusetts Lowell in the first game of a Northeast-10 Conference doubleheader at Dr. Arthur and Martha Pappas Field. The win clinched the Northeast-10 Conference regular season championship for Franklin Pierce. The Ravens won the second game as well, 5-2.

(April 25, 2009) Freshman third baseman Ben Benigno (Trumbull, Conn./Trumbull) went 3-for-5 with a double, drove in four runs and scored twice to lead the Franklin Pierce University baseball team to a 12-4 victory over New Haven in the first game of a Northeast-10 Conference doubleheader at Frank Vieira Field. New Haven won the second game, 5-3, as senior second baseman Evan Okon (Bellmore, N.Y./Mepham) hit 2-for-3, drove in a run and scored another. With the win in the first game, Franklin Pierce clinched a spot in the Northeast-10 Conference Championships.

Seven different Ravens drove in a run on the day. Sophomore designated hitter Dan Harper (Boca Raton, Fla./Spanish River Comm. HS) drove in the lone run of the day for New Haven in defeat.

Baseball Announces Weekend Schedule Changes
RINDGE, N.H. (April 10, 2009) -- The Franklin Pierce University baseball team has announced changes to the schedule of its weekend series with Northeast-10 Conference opponent Merrimack. The Ravens and the Warriors will now play a doubleheader at Franklin Pierce's Dr. Arthur and Martha Pappas Field in Rindge at noon on Saturday. The games had originally been scheduled at Merrimack. Monday's single game, originally scheduled in Rindge, will now be played at Merrimack's Warrior Baseball Diamond in North Andover, Mass. at 3:30 p.m. In addition, Friday afternoon's home game against Bentley has been moved up to a 2 p.m. start.

SHIRLEY, N.Y. (February 21, 2009) Senior right-hander Mike Adams (Orchard Park, N.Y.) opened with five no-hit innings and junior right-hander Kyle Vazquez (Berlin, Conn./Berlin) followed with four more as the duo threw a combined no-hitter on Saturday afternoon to lead the No. 7 nationally ranked Franklin Pierce University baseball team to a 7-0 road victory over Dowling in non-conference play at Golden Lions Field.

Baseball Set To Open Season
RINDGE, N.H. (February 20, 2009) The No. 7 nationally ranked Franklin Pierce University baseball team opens the 2009 season on Saturday afternoon, when it travels to Dowling. Originally scheduled as a three-game weekend series, the Ravens and the Golden Lions will instead meet just once, at 1 p.m. on Saturday. Franklin Pierce opens the season as the unanimous favorite in the Northeast-10 Conference and is the only team from the East Region to crack the national rankings.

In addition, Adams is among three starting pitchers in Division II chosen as Players to Watch for the upcoming season by Baseball America.

Baseball Boasts Three ABCA Preseason All-Americans

(January 16, 2009) Senior pitcher Mike Adams (Orchard Park, N.Y./Orchard Park), sophomore outfielder Derek Ingui (Sterling, Mass./Somerset) and junior pitcher Brian Maloney (Brockton, Mass./Mass. Dartmouth) have been selected as preseason All-Americans by the American Baseball Coaches Association, as announced in the Jan. 2 issue of Collegiate Baseball. Also, junior outfielder Kevin Rivers (Bristol, Conn./Bristol Eastern) was selected as a player to watch in the East Region, while sophomore Jose Macias (Bronx, N.Y./Monroe College) was named a newcomer to watch.
