NCAA II EAST REGIONAL: #4 Dowling vs. #3 Adelphi Postponed to Friday

#2 Franklin Pierce and #5 Assumption tied at 3-3 in rain delay in top of 8th inning

RINDGE, N.H. (May 14, 2009) - Tonight's third game of the 2009 NCAA Division II East Regional, hosted by Franklin Pierce University, between fourth-seeded Dowling College (30-15) and third-seeded Adelphi University (31-14) has been postponed until Friday morning at 10 a.m.

Today's second game between second-seeded and host Franklin Pierce (37-16) and fifth-seeded Assumption College (32-19-1) is in a rain delay with the score tied at 3-3 entering the top of the eighth inning. That game is expected to be completed tonight once the rain ends.

Friday's regularly scheduled games four through five have also been impacted. Game four between top-seeded Dominican College (37-13) and the loser of the Franklin Pierce/Assumption game will start at 1 p.m. Game five between sixth-seeded Wilmington University (28-27) and the loser of the Adelphi/Dowling game will begin at 4 p.m. The final game of the day between the Franklin Pierce/Assumption winner and Adelphi/Dowling winner will begin at 7 p.m.
