Franklin Pierce held on for a 5-4 victory in game one before posting a 13-5 triumph in the nightcap.

(March 13, 2004) Franklin Pierce, receiving votes in both the National Collegiate Baseball Writers of America (NCBWA) and Collegiate Baseball magazine Division II polls this week, split a non-conference doubleheader with Wayne State University of Michigan at the Gene Cusic Classic today. Wayne State rode a big fifth inning rally to post a 10-3 victory in game one, before Franklin Pierce raced out to a 13-3 lead after three innings en route to an 18-8 triumph in game two.

(June 21, 2004) Former Franklin Pierce catcher Eric Cavers (Otisfield, Maine/Oxford Hills) has added another All-America award to his list of accolades as he has earned a spot on the Akadema Small College All-America Team by Baseball America magazine. Cavers is the first player in program history to earn a spot on the magazines small college team, made up of players from NCAA Divisions II & III as well as the NAIA.
