Franklin Pierce held on for a 5-4 victory in game one before posting a 13-5 triumph in the nightcap.

(March 13, 2004) – Franklin Pierce, receiving votes in both the National Collegiate Baseball Writers of America (NCBWA) and Collegiate Baseball magazine Division II polls this week, split a non-conference doubleheader with Wayne State University of Michigan at the Gene Cusic Classic today. Wayne State rode a big fifth inning rally to post a 10-3 victory in game one, before Franklin Pierce raced out to a 13-3 lead after three innings en route to an 18-8 triumph in game two.

The awards, voted on by the 12 head coaches in the NE-10, were announced today.

(June 21, 2004) – Former Franklin Pierce catcher Eric Cavers (Otisfield, Maine/Oxford Hills) has added another All-America award to his list of accolades as he has earned a spot on the Akadema Small College All-America Team by Baseball America magazine. Cavers is the first player in program history to earn a spot on the magazine’s small college team, made up of players from NCAA Divisions II & III as well as the NAIA.
