Dan Blair enters in his third year
as the university’s first full-time compliance coordinator in
2009-10 and was promoted to Assistant Director of Athletics in
February, 2009. Blair is responsible for Franklin Pierce’s
compliance efforts with NCAA and Northeast-10 Conference bylaws,
while also overseeing the University’s Community Engagement
and Game Environment initiatives.
Blair came to Franklin Pierce after spending the 2006-07 academic
year at fellow Northeast-10 member Stonehill College as a
compliance intern. In addition, he served as an assistant coach on
the Bridgewater State men’s and women’s track and field
teams for both the indoor and outdoor seasons. He helped lead one
athlete to All-New England honors and made a trip to the NCAA
Division III National Championship.
Blair, a native of Newburyport, Mass., is a 2006 graduate of
Bridgewater State where he earned a bachelor's degree in psychology
with minors in both recreation management and special education. He
was a four-year letterwinner on the Bears’ men’s cross
country and indoor and outdoor track and field teams, serving as
captain on two occasions. Blair captured the MASCAC Championship in
the steeplechase as a sophomore. He served on a variety of student
organizations at Bridgewater State, including a two-year term as
chairperson of the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee.
Blair currently resides in Keene, N.H., and is pursuing his
master's degree in sport facility management at Franklin Pierce. He
is also a member of the Massachusetts Track and Field Officials
Association.
