155 Franklin Pierce Student-Athletes Named to NE-10 Commissioner's Spring Academic Honor Roll
RINDGE, N.H. (July 25, 2012) -- Franklin Pierce University recently had 155 of its student-athletes named to the Spring 2012 Northeast-10 Commissioner's Academic Honor Roll. The 155 student-athletes came from 15 teams on the Rindge campus that compete in the Northeast-10 Conference.

Johannah Leedham & Great Britain to Face Team USA on ESPN2 Wednesday at 2:30 p.m.
RINDGE, N.H. (July 17, 2012) – Former Franklin Pierce University women’s basketball standout Johannah Leedham (Ellesmere Port, England) and Great Britain on Wednesday will face Team USA in an exhibition, which can be seen live at 2:30 p.m. on ESPN2. The contest will be a tune-up for both teams as they prepare for the upcoming Summer Olympics in London.

Trio of Raven Student-Athletes Named to 2012 NE-10 Spring All-Academic Teams
RINDGE, N.H. (July 3, 2012) -- A trio of Franklin Pierce University student-athletes were recently named to the 2012 Northeast-10 Conference Spring All-Academic Team for their respective sport. The trio included softball senior Jamie Verner (Natick, Mass.), men's lacrosse junior Ben McDannell (Morrisville, Pa.) and baseball junior Ryan Thompson (Calgary, Alberta).

Volleyball, Women's Basketball & Women's Tennis Earn NE-10 Team Academic Excellence Awards
RINDGE, N.H. (June 21, 2012) -- A trio of Franklin Pierce University athletic teams (volleyball, women's basketball and women's tennis) earned the 2011-12 Northeast-10 Conference Team Academic Excellence Award for their respective sport, as announced on Thursday by the league. The three Raven squads were tied for the second highest total in the league.

Seven Ravens Earn Spots on Fall Northeast-10 Academic All-Conference Teams
RINDGE, N.H. (January 30, 2012) – Seven Franklin Pierce University student-athletes have been named to the fall 2011 Northeast-10 Academic All-Conference Team in their respective sports, as announced recently by the Conference office. Men’s soccer senior forward Victor Goncalves (Rio de Janeiro, Brazil), senior goalkeeper Vinny Papageorgiou (Wilmington, Mass.) and senior back Tom Reilly (Wallasey, England); field hockey senior forward Tia Levins (Manchester, Maine) and senior goalkeeper Brittany Nyzio (Attleboro, Mass.); and women’s soccer senior midfielder Aya Noguchi (Tokyo, Japan) and senior forward Amanda Panaro (Rockland, Mass.) were among 92 athletes across seven sports honored by the Northeast-10.

Q&A with Golf Senior Co-Captain Brian Fleckles
Brian Fleckles has been a consistent contributor for the Franklin Pierce University golf team over his four-year career. The senior co-captain was part of a Ravens unit which finished second at the 2011 Northeast-10 Conference Championship back in October, which marked the highest finish in the program’s history at the tournament. “Fleck” had a terrific fall season, individually, but he doesn’t take it for granted as he had to battle through knee injuries last season. That nagging setback limited his ability to help out the team during the spring season.

Ground Breaking Ceremony Held for New Academic & Athletic Training Center
RINDGE, N.H. (October 1, 2011) -- The official ground breaking ceremony for the new Academic & Athletic Training Center was held on Saturday during homecoming weekend at Franklin Pierce University. Dr. Arthur and Martha Pappas, donors for the new center, were on hand for the special event.

Franklin Pierce Athletics to Add Sprint Football, Men's and Women's Track & Field/Men's Cross Country, and Women's Ice Hockey
RINDGE, N.H. (September 5, 2011) – Franklin Pierce University and its Department of Athletics announced on Monday the school will sponsor three new varsity intercollegiate sports including; sprint football, men’s and women’s track & field/men’s cross country, and women’s ice hockey. The announcement was made by University President Dr. James Birge and Vice President/Director of Athletics Bruce Kirsh. The announcement of sprint football was made in conjunction with the Collegiate Sprint Football League (CSFL). All three programs are scheduled to begin competition in the fall of 2012.

University Announces Plans for New Athletic Training & Academic Center
RINDGE, N.H. (July 21, 2011) – Franklin Pierce University and the Department of Athletics has announced the school will break ground on a new athletic training and academic center this fall. The announcement was made on Thursday morning by University President Dr. James Birge before the school’s faculty and staff in Rindge Hall.
